THE STORY
Looking sharp in its new Italian Racing Red base-coat and clear-coat paint job performed by FST Restorations based out of White Bluff, Tennessee, this 1967 Pontiac GTO Resto Mod has recently undergone a recent frame-on restoration that helps create a great combination of nostalgia mixed with modern performance. It’s no wonder the 1967 GTO is one of the most iconic muscle cars of all time. A newly tuned 400 CI V-8 and some minor body changes, including simplified tail lights and a new chain-link grille, were the only changes made to the already popular GTO styling for the model year. The exterior of this Pontiac GTO features more than just that sparkly new red paint job, it also has all-original replated chrome and a new convertible top. The famous stance of the car has been slightly lowered with the modern suspension pieces and enhanced by 18-inch American Racing wheels. Enter the all-original interior and find Parchment bucket seats, factory gauges, an AM/FM radio with an MP3 connector and a wood-grain dashboard and center console. Under the hood lurks a high-output matching-numbers 400/360 HP V-8 featuring a higher-lift camshaft, free-flow exhaust manifolds, an open-element air cleaner and polished valve covers. The new-for-1967 V-8 is mated to an automatic transmission controlled by a Hurst “his and hers” Dual Gate shifter, and a new aluminum radiator has been installed along with an upgraded intake and carburetor. The suspension has been completely overhauled and now features WAR Pro Touring Shocks specifically tuned to the car, a quick-steer steering box, UMI tubular control arms and Hotchkis oversized sway bars in the front and rear. A front disc-brake conversion has been performed, and power options include power brakes and power steering. PHS documentation accompanies the vehicle. This Resto Mod conversion combines classic styling with modern performance parts.
